These calculation tricks will also make it possible to do all the calculations in your mind without using paper and pen.

To find a square of any number. At first, have to know to find duplex values of one digit number, 2 digit number, 3 digit numbers and so on.

Duplex (D) Values:
D (a) = a².  Eg: D (7) = 7² = 49.

D (ab) = 2ab.  Eg: D (27) = 2 × 2 × 7 = 49.

D (abc) = 2ac + b². Eg: D (752) = (2×7×2) + 5^2.

D (abcd) = 2ad + 2bc.
D (abcde) = 2ae + 2bd + c².

Find the squares of below numbers:

I. (14)²

D (1) | D (14) | D (4)
1     |   8       |    16  
(Combining above numbers from right to left and carry forward extra)
Answer: 196.

II. (37)²

  9     |   42      | 49.
